When summer term finally ended, Nate and I headed out for a 3 week adventure. First we went up to Bear Lake, UT where we went on our honeymoon last year. We stayed there a week and had a fabulous time! The trip consisted of a lot of raspberry shakes, waverunning, beach-going, tennis, reading, swimming, sleeping, and eating. The theme song of the trip turned out to be Big Boi's "Shutterbug" because we probably listened to it 150+ times including times in the car, in the condo, and...singing it acapella ourselves when the song wasn't playing otherwise.

For my birthday, Nate got it all set up at the Logan Zoo for me to be a "zookeeper for a day!" That meant that I got to fix all the animals' food for the day, go around feeding all the animals, and things of that sort. I LOVED it. I asked the zookeeper lady who I followed if she had ever had people my age do this sort of thing and she said "Not really, usually I get elementary school kids who want to do this." Hahahahaha -- well obviously that means other people that are 22 are missing OUT.

Great trip overall -- Bear Lake will always be one of our favorite places :) Then we flew out to Texas for Kamille's wedding -- which was fabulous -- they're a beautiful couple! We had so much fun at their reception!! It was great to see old friends :)

It was great being home in Texas again -- always is! I definitely made Nate and my parents go to Hurricane Harbor and of course On the Border with me because what would be a summer trip to Arlington without those 2 stops?
We were in Arlington for about a week and then we flew out to Lake Tahoe, NV for a family trip! We had a great time spending time on the boat and wakeboarding/tubing in the freezing cold water.

Between times at the lake we played a little mini golf! Nate and I...didn't lead the pack in scores that's for sure.

What may or may not have been my favorite part of the trip though was this...

Feeding the Stellar's Jays every morning! There would be up to 10 of them at one time on the railing. LOVED it! Let's just say we didn't ever end up eating sandwiches this trip because I quickly used up all the bread.

On a side note -- my family's favorite game is bridge -- I was quickly bummed out upon my arrival to BYU to realize that no one plays it up here -- what the!!?!?. We taught Nate how to play this trip and he's turned out to be pretty good -- we bid and made 2 grand slams...in a row!! Best I've ever played...ever thanks to Nate!

We had a great time with my family and were sad when it all ended, but it was back to school for us! For our final undergraduate year :)

Bear Lake is freaking COLD!
ReplyDeleteRemember when we were in the Chicago airport and play hearts for like four hours straight on our way to London? I feel like we should add cards into our dinner nights.
